DIGILENS® - APPLICATION SPECIFIC INTEGRATED LENS

DigiLens® Application Specific Integrated Lens (ASIL) is an award winning device that replaces multiple optical elements and improves performance in optical designs. The key lies in DigiLens® high light efficiency, sub millisecond light switching speeds and planar integration - all of which result in compact innovative new designs.

The device can bend, shape and diffuse light by harnessing custom diffractive optics. Being electrically erasable, individual RGB layers can be sequenced and essentially overcome the broadband limitations of conventional passive diffractive optical elements. Each layer is switched in turn (field sequenced @360Hz) synchronized with the Microdisplay. The optical characteristics may be customized to any projection design, allowing multiple optical functions to be integrated, dramatically reducing size.

DigiLens® allows OEM’s to eliminate bulbs completely and build ultra small lightweight projection display solutions for Laptops, Cameras, PDA’s and Cell phones.

ADVANTAGES OVER CONVENTIONAL OPTICS
  • Combines - multiple diodes
  • Removes - laser speckle
  • Diffuses – scatters into lens
  • Shapes – round to square
  • Homogenizes  - uniformity
  • Magnifies - integrates lens’s
  • Routes - different locations
  • Attenuates – contrast control
  • Beam Splits – Polarization
  • Selects – Polarization
