SBG Labs Inc. has developed a new solid-state optical device technology, the DigiLens®, offering an alternative Illumination and Imaging method to using traditional dichroic and refractive optical solutions for many applications.

The DigiLens® relies on a fundamental Holographic optical switching technology, called the Switchable Bragg Grating (SBG). A DigiLens®is built from several SBG's, which can diffract specific wavelengths and polarizations of light at controllable angles, enabling wavelength or angular selectivity.

In new product design, these capabilities help drive radical form factor reduction, new design features and high optical efficiency.

So how exactly does the DigiLens® holographic optics work to improve optical efficiency and reduce product size?
