Optical Design
SBG Labs has pooled resources from its talented and visionary group of developers to design the DigiLens, a groundbreaking eye display that allows a user to view holographic images and data by way of a comfortable, lightweight, and fully portable lens. The DigiLens earned its nickname – the "heads-up" – for its ability to deliver sharp, full color digital images from a user's smartphone to the inside lens of the display right before their eyes.
Where the DigiLens leaves any similar designs far behind is in its unequaled ability to provide full field vision holographic images through a wrap-around design that not only projects images directly in front of the user's eyes, but also casts images peripherally. Considering its ability to achieve brilliant color, a far wider field of vision than similar devices, and 1080p HD resolution, it might be expected that the DigiLens would be as heavy as a brick and about as comfortable – but the device's use of the concept of Bragg diffraction to project holographic images does away with the requirement for a bulky, cumbersome apparatus. The result is a technology that has to be tried to be believed.
In the DigiLens, SBG Labs has developed a unique optical design that's fully adaptable to any sort of holograph projection system and can be used for a wide variety of purposes including military, commercial, and recreational.
