Soon, 5G will deliver 10-20gbps, a thousand times faster than today’s 4G. As important, the 1ms latency for ultra-reliable low latency communications will usher the concept of a wireless “Smart Terminal,” where cloud-based application processors will deliver both graphics and AI processing in real time.
In addition, advances in speech recognition is accelerating and making voice the vital interaction paradigm for hands-free control. Delivering information via AR-powered wearables is an extremely effective way to communicate actionable, pragmatic work instructions. In hands-on work environments, speaking to the device is by far the most compelling way to exchange this information.
