DigiLens is hiring experienced, self-motivated Process Development & Integration Engineers to develop world class waveguide manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of delivering leading edge process capability, yield, cost and manufacturability. This will involve exceptional collaboration with cross-functional/cross-company teams and tool vendors to meet device requirements for next-generation heads-up display products.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive implementation of new processes in pilot manufacturing for high performance, high volume waveguide manufacturing
  • Devise process control plans for waveguide manufacturing process steps, and troubleshoot process issues through data analysis, SPC review and failure mode analysis
  • Carry out experiments to determine the effect of processing variables on waveguide properties and performance
  • Develop a strong understanding of the interactions between processes
  • Improve and optimize processes for manufacturability and increased yield
  • Review process and product yields, propose, qualify and implement yield improvement measures
  • Document process procedures, process specifications and process control plans
  • Transfer processes to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory startup
  • Collaborate with the product development, as well as, with customer manufacturing engineering teams when processes are transferred to customer manufacturing
  • Identify potential intellectual properties (IP) opportunities and file disclosures
  • Domestic and International travel, as necessary to support job responsibilities

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent field
  • 5-10 years recent, hands-on experience in process development, integration, scale-up, troubleshooting and transferring new processes to high volume manufacturing
  • Direct experiences in yield, integration, device, or process engineering organizations, or in development and integration of novel materials systems
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Statistical techniques (DOE, Regression, Anova, SPC, Hypothesis Test, Process Capability Studies) for process development and process improvement
  • Solid analytical and technical problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent at cross-functional innovation working with process, product, design, reliability, and system engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor/optical manufacturing processes and device process flows
  • Experience in laser, optics or related process and/or equipment development a plus

We are looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Team, working on transferring technology to customers and supporting them after acceptance. Responsibilities:

  • Program Management to transfer DigiLens technology to customers and partners

  • B.S. or M.S. in Optics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline with 5+ year of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in set up, use and alignment of optical components and related test equipment
  • Familiar with lasers and light sources
  • Customer support experience with complex equipment and processes
  • Good verbal and written communication skills both internal and with customers
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills
  • High energy and drive to work in a startup environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands on polarization and optical alignment experience; Understanding of fundamental holography principles

In your role, you will drive innovation in precision opto-mechanical, robotic, mechatronic, and machine vision techniques.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and lead mechanical engineering development of R&D projects
  • Implement design decisions around new feature requests
  • Design contingency plans for critical machine updates
  • Analyze technical requirements with the team
  • Write technical documentation for new features
  • Transfer R&D designs into advanced manufacturing group

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Physics or related discipline. Related industry experience can be substituted for formal education.
