Digilens is building exciting new AR display products and is seeking qualified candidates for a laboratory technician to coordinate our busy and fast paced laboratory and work spaces. The ideal candidate would have at least a limited laboratory background with good organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic with high energy and desire to work in a start-up atmosphere.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to Production Systems Manager
  • Sort/organize laboratory equipment and arrange for timely equipment calibration.
  • Control inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Support / maintain tidy workspaces.
  • Support engineering staff with optomechanical layouts and placements.
  • Support facilities manager with facilities infrastructure improvements.
  • Manage local pick up / drops offs of time critical parts with local vendors, including shipping drop offs.

Optical Modeling Software Development Intern

We are looking for a self-directed software development intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical and programming skills, an interest in optical displays for AR/VR market segments and in optical technology generally. The intern will work on next generation optical modeling software tools and will gain an exciting real-world experience in DigiLens optical tools development. The intern will closely work with senior members of DigiLens optical design team on a directed program of development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an application programming interface (API) for Zemax OpticStudio relevant to DigiLens waveguide display optical modeling.
  • Generate graphical visualizations of results.
  • Perform computational verification studies to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Report to senior optical scientist.

Requirement:

  • Computer Science, physics, optics, or electrical engineering major
  • Experience programming in C, C++, and Matlab
  • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
  • Track record of working independently
  • Ability to work in small teams

Preferred:

Lead Process Technician

DigiLens is hiring an experienced, self-motivated, Lead Process Technician to support the development of manufacturing processes for world class waveguides, and next-generation heads-up display products. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, possess a positive attitude and be able to quickly learn and carry out our pilot manufacturing process from start to finish. Contributing to the improvement of process techniques is also expected.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow SOPs and work instructions to meet pilot production requirements
  • Process production lots in pilot line
  • Identify issues as they occur and make appropriate corrections
  • Process test lots/split lots and help continuously improve processes
  • Oversee equipment operators to ensure smooth running of pilot line
  • Perform routine and regular preventative maintenance on various processing equipment
  • Support process engineers on process maintenance and improvement
  • Track process steps through electronic traveler system/MES
  • Handle chemicals and solutions, eluents, and waste in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Ensure and record proper documentation of all pilot production and testing information, as well as, maintain good housekeeping practices in the pilot production line

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years technician experience in a pilot/manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with clean room operations and protocol
  • A working knowledge of good laboratory practices; ability to properly handle chemical samples
  • High school graduate at a minimum, college degree a plus
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, and high pressure environment
  • Understanding of semiconductor/optical manufacturing processes and device process flows a plus
  • Experience in laser, optics or related process and/or equipment a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Optics, Physics or a related Engineering discipline, preferably with 7+ year of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in set up, use and alignment of optical components and related test equipment

This position will work closely with materials engineer/scientist team to produce and QC materials and polymer formulations that are used in design, fabrication and electro-optic systems. Responsibilities

  • Perform production activities in making DigiLens waveguide.
  • Follow procedures to mix organic chemical formulations for production.
  • QC materials made with various established parameters.
  • Keep detailed records of QC data, formulation batches and waveguide production records.
  • Maintain lab equipment, glassware and supplies.
